W.P. was charged with FAILURE TO REMAIN under s.200(1) (a) of the Highway Traffic Act,

 
Penalties if Convicted

If convicted, W.P.  faced up to six (6) months in jail, a fine of up to $2,500, a two (2) year driver’s licence suspension, receiving seven (7) Demerit Points, and a significant increase in his insurance rates.
